...for just one $

LOOK UP! see that cool poster at the top of my blog with those three pretty ladies on it? theyre some of my really special blogger friends that i love. one reason i love them soooo much is cause they got really good hearts and like helping people.
x
on october 10th, and thats coming up pretty quick, theyre gonna do a walk to help kids and big people not kill them selves. theres just so much of that suicide stuff happening. could you believe over 32,000 people kill themselves every year. its just a really big problem and its getting worse. how sad is that! its real hard for familys cause they got nothing left but asking “why?” a zillion times but not ever getting an answer and that could hurt their hearts forever. that could happen for your family too. you could lose someone you love and maybe its a friend or someone in your family.
x
could you believe in america someone tries to kills himself every minute! and every 16 minutes someone dies from it. just think, while youre reading this theres a lot of people trying to kill them selves and before you get done someone is gonna be dead. thats sad and scary! whats more worse is now lots of them are just kids and real young people. suicide is the 5th leading cause of death for kids just 5 to 14 years old and 3rd for young people 15 to 24 years old. its 4th for adults 18 to 65 years old.
x
YIKES! we just gotta help!
x
helping someone is really EASY! you dont have to do the hard part of the walking. nope! we already got some cool walkers! all you gotta do is stick your hand in your pocket or wallet or purse or smash your piggy bank and pull out a dollar. just think, for just ONE $$$ DOLLAR you could help SAVE A LIFE!!! how cool is that! more than one dollar if you got more would be even better! :)
x
i couldnt write all this stuff and not give out my own dollars. so i need to tell you i already did my part and i got my brothers and sister to do their part too. now im asking you to do your part and GIVE JUST ONE $ DOLLAR!
x
are you ready to do it? hooray for YOU! just click on that poster at the top and type in a name and it will get you to where you need to go. oh, see that pretty girl on my side bar? the one with the cool horse? shes emily and shes miss justines daughter and shes doing the walk too. hooray for EMILY! you can support her walk too. just click her pic!
x
BIG THANKS to all the ones who gave already and all of you who are gonna read this and give bunches of help from your pocket. i promise its gonna make your heart feel soooo good. :)

  6. Lenny:

How great that you took today to blog about such an important event. I am very good friends with Ms. Candy and I donated already but maybe I should dedicate a day to blog about this as well to help raise awareness.

Glad you are feeling better. The sun wasn't as bright while you were under the weather.

  11. Wow, Lenny that's some scary stuff! Last year one of the kids in my old neighborhood committed suicide. It was/is very sad. He was a great kid...I still cry every time I think about it. I wish I had been there to talk to him, maybe I could have helped. Count me in!!!

I'm glad to see that you are up and blogging. :) That's a good sign...We've all missed your smiles and hugs....

  13. Hi Lenny,
This is indeed a most worthy and very important cause. Now sadly, suicide prevention is an ongoing situation, worldwide.
Incidentally, October 10th is 'World Mental Health Day' and, of course, good mental health and a positive environment go some ways in helping to ease those who are in distress.
Well done for bringing the awareness of this via your blog, Lenny.
    Big hugs and smiles, Gary:-)

  14. Hi Lenny! Are you feeling better?

Thank you for blogging about such an important cause. There are several walks coming up really soon in our surrounding areas.

  15. It's on my to-do list! Just (always) sorting out where my bank account is at. This walk is on my birthday so hopefully my little gift can help ensure someone else gets to celebrate lots more birthdays!

    Glad you're feeling better!

  16. Hi Lenny - wonderful for you to share .. as you say far too many people don't realise the value of life & it is so sad .. they need our support: we miss them when they've gone ...

Thanks - I support the children here when they walk for charity or raise money for a special item ..

Your blog does you great credit .. and I do hope you're feeling a little better - have a fun weekend .. Hilary

  17. Lenny, you are just made of one, big warm heart! You are beyond wonderful for posting about this and increasing the awareness of how big this problem is.

I'm a suicide attempt survivor. I was 17 and I meant business, too, but someone somewhere wanted me to exist, even when I didn't, because there were off-duty EMTs who happened to have their medical bags in their car. They saved my life. That was soooo long ago, and now I have every reason to live, children, spouse, career, a home. Some day I want to tattoo a phoenix over the scars.

Back then, it would have made all the difference to have somewhere to turn. Believe me. This is beautiful what you guys are doing to help.

  18. OMGosh, you are the sweetest thing ever! I just realized that I wasn't a follower of yours. I just corrected that problem. Hope you're cool with having me!!

AND...you have me in your list of peeps to the left, all linked up and everything. Aw...I'm seriously touched. Thank you, thank you!! Hey, if you can, I hope you'll pay a visit to my blog this Friday and keep me in your thoughts. If you visit, you'll understand why. Thank you for being such an inspiration.

    Love the blog, BTW!!

  19. Sorry. Me again. I just noticed that you like lemon tarts. I don't know if you have a Facebook, but I think you and my eleven-year-old daughter would get along just fine. She calls herself a LEMONHEAD!! She loves anything lemon. If you have a FB page and want to friend her, have your brother email me and I'll give him her name.
