tai chi is soooo cool! i do it mostly every day in the morning. doctor ron got me started on it so it could get me feeling relaxed and not scared or worried about stuff. hes got a black belt in it and even went to china to learn more from a famous tai chi master. i was thinking cause its pretty neat and does lots of good maybe you could want to know some stuff about it and maybe even try it.x

tai chi is a martial art but its lots more different than those ones like kung fu and karate cause its not for thumping or beating on someone to win a fight. nope! its mostly just for defending your self. it got started by a guy named chang san-feng way back a zillion years ago in the sung dynasty in china. one day he saw a snake and a crane fighting each and he liked how they were so balanced and in defending them selves they moved slow and graceful in getting out of each others way. he liked it so much he copied it and made it into a real neat self defending art that got called tai chi chuan.
x
mostly tai chi is a neat way for getting in a sync with your body and your mind so your whole self works together for good. its a bunch of real slow moves and every one of them is like imitating something in nature and each moves got a name like wild goose looks for food and bridge over water and stomping the tigers tail. that makes it more easy to remember. every move is real smooth and just flows right into the next one til you get done with a whole routine. it takes just 15 minutes a day to do it or you could do it longer or shorter.
x
whats so cool about moving and dancing around like a snake and a bird defending them selves? you could be real surprised on all the things it could do for you. heres some of them…
x
1. it makes you lots less antsy and more calm and lots less depressed.
2. you get better balance and good breathing and more strong muscles
3. for more old people it helps them not fall as much
4. you could sleep lots better
5. if you got high blood pressure it could help get it down
6. your heart could be lots more healthy
7. if you got pains it could help them not hurt so much
8. you could get lots more energy
9. it helps you get focused
10. mostly you could just feel lots better!
x
besides all that it could help kids that have attention problems and thats called add and that stands for attention deficit disorder and now doctors say it could be a big help for kids with autism. it’s a really neat way to help those kids get more focused on stuff.
x
now you know some cool stuff about tai chi. you know who invented it and its real old and your know what its good for. so im hoping your could go look for more about it and get started in it. if you do youre gonna be really surprised on how easy it is and how much better you could feel.
x
if you could want to read some good health stuff about tai chi you can go in the computer and visit the mayo clinic. just click on mayo and like magic youll zooooooooom all the way to minnesota and be right there at that real famous clinic.

  3. I didn't know it was recommended for ADD and autism. My daughter (9) takes Taekwondo and I've been wondering if it would help my son (7) who is autistic. Will have to look into it a little more. Thanks for the tips!

  5. Lenny, thanks for the information. My children take Taekwondo, which is similar, but I didn't know much about Tai-Chi. I like it because it's about getting exercise and being disciplined. In fact, I took martial arts for awhile, and I miss it. You may have inspired me to get back in it!

  8. Awesome information, Lenny. I do a bit of Yoga myself, but now I'm going to have a go at Tai-Chi. I need the calm after a writing session, and I can always use a little more sleep. :)

  9. Tai-Chi sounds interesting. As a former dancer, I know the importance of movement and how it relates to the brain. It gets those creative and motivational juices flowing. Good for you, Lenny.

Hey, come check out the writing contest I launched today. It's all about Halloween....

  11. Fascinating post, Lenny! I've always wanted to learn tai-chi. I practice yoga so I have a tiny glimpse into the mental, physical and spiritual benefits of tai-chi. Glad to hear you're so enthusiastic about it. Such a wonderful practice!

  12. That's really cool, Lenny! It's a good idea to involve yourself in exercises like this because it really does help with stress. I know that I use dancing to help me. I have to fight depression everyday and exercise is a great way to help me do that. What a wonderful post.

  15. Hey Lenny,
Tai Chi and the other martial arts, are, for sure, wonderful ways of getting in tune with your mind and body.
It is always good to have positive distractions. That way, we smile and others smile back:-)
    Have a wonderful week, Lenny.
Kind wishes and a big smile, your way, 'Mr. Gary' :-)

  17. Tai chi sounds great. I didn't realize it could help kids with ADD and autism. I'm going to suggest it to the kids in my class (and their parents) who have these disorders. Thanks for the info :)

  18. I've never done tai chi, but I took karate as a kid. It made me feel more confident knowing that I had this skill that I could use to defend myself if I needed to. Plus it was just fun to do :)

  20. Lenny, you're he coolest kid ever!
I've always loved martial arts (I did kung fu for 5 years) and Tai Chi has always made my eyes shine.
But I didn't know so much about it until now. This was a really great post, thank you! =)

  21. I LOVE Tai chi and what is does for my joints and flexibility. I've been practicing for about two years and follow a modified William C. C. Chen method.

I'm glad you like Tai chi too, Lenny. Someday you'll have to post a video of you doing the forms so we can all be in awe of you! :o)

    Hugs back,

  22. Great post Lenny! I love Tai Chi. I used to do it more but started to forget about it. I need to start doing it again.

My favorite part about Tai Chi is how it can balance your energy.

  23. Wonderful post, Lenny! I need to get a Tai chi video. I don't think they teach it at my gym. They do yoga, and I tried it....but I'm not very coordinated and seemed to fall down all of the time which was embarrassing. I started kick boxing again and working out on the treadmill. Which is fun. :) But Tai chi sure sounds like it would be a great thing to do right before bed to help me sleep better.

    Thanks for the great post!

Have a wonderful rest of the week...

  25. This sounds awesome. I wish I had a spare 15 minutes in my day to take up something like this. It would probably do me good after sitting at my desk working all day. Hmmm, maybe I should start getting up earlier ...

  26. I'd like to take this up one day. I have back problems so other forms of martial arts are out. Glad it's going well for you!

  29. I gave tai chi a shot two summers ago, and I'm just too uncoordinated to do it! Lol there's definitely a disconnect between my brain and limbs because I was pretty pitiful. I'm definitely in awe of you for doing it every morning! :)

  30. Awesome post, Lenny! I didn't realize all that. Sounds way better than Karate. I tried to take karate when I was young and didn't get very far because I was afraid to tumble. Tai Chi sounds fun though!

  31. I have a strong urge to go learn me some Tai Chi. Thanks.
