...what a crock!

crock of ...CHARMS! bet you never heard of a CROCK OF CHARMS before.

well...you can find this magical crock in a set of 3 books put together and edited by miss sally odgers. the first book is for ages 4-6. the second is for ages 7-8 and the third for ages 9-11.

it was a neat writing project open to anyone who wanted to participate. all you had to do was go to the site and pick a charm and write a short story or poem inspired by that charm. and...there was a BONUS!  you got the for charm you picked. yep! miss sally sent it all the way from australia. WOW! how cool is that!

i picked a bus charm and wrote a fun poem about a island country bus "rumbling on her daily run, underneath the island sun" on the way to market. its in book 2.

i liked being part of the project not just cause of the writing...but i loved doing a togetherness project with three of my neat blogger buddies: miss sharon and miss theresa and miss robyn. their stories are in the books too!!

you can get more details about the books at my blogger buddies blogs. just click on their names and WHAMO youll be transported there. and...miss sharon is gonna give away a signed copy of book 2 (the one her story is in) to one lucky commenter  WOW! how charming is that!

fun project! have you ever been in a writing project like this?

...hugs from lenny

  8. Very cool, Lenny! It looks like it was a fun project. Your poem sounds terrific! I wouldn't mind being under the island sun right now. It sure is cold in PA these days!

Hope you're well! Watching football? The Eagles have picked up the pace (surprisingly!), and my fingers are crossed they'll be in the playoffs. How are the Falcons doing??

    Have a great weekend, Lenny!

Happy reading and writing! from Laura Marcella @ Wavy Lines

  13. Hi Lenny .. I know your bus poem and it is such a fun read .. I'm sure many will enjoy it. Miss Sally seems to have collected some wonderful story tellers for her crocks .. such a good name "Crock of Charms" ... I've asked Sharon how I get hold of the three series .. they'll be good reads.

Wonderful to hear from you ... and isn't that amazing that you're a published author - what a wonderful Christmas present ...

Happy pre Christmas week ... lots of exciting things going on .. I can hear your tummy rumbling in excitement! Big hugs - Hilary
