yikes! i got a angry snow monster running loose on apple mountain! hes in my wip and hes just really mad cause he doesnt got a name. he said if he doesnt get a name pretty soon hes gonna swallow up my whole ms characters and all.
xfor sure i been trying to get him a good name. first i got calling him sasquatch and he hated it. then my cool cp miss sharon said thats a hairy man monster not a snow monster. i tried yeti but he hates that too. he wants a his very own scary name. i been thinking and thinking but i just cant think up one he likes.
miss sharon said maybe i should ask my blogger friends for some help and i said woweee thats the most best idea ever. now im asking for some cool names from you. heres some stuff bout that snow monster that could maybe help you think up a cool name.
xhes made of icy snow and hes gigantical tall and big and hes real ugly and mean. hes got a mouthful of sharp pointy icicle teeth and he loves to eat mountain climbers. (yikes! all my characters are mountain climbers!) he howls so loud you gotta get your ears covered. hes soooooooo scary.
xi hope you got some good names you could share out with me cause for sure couldnt want that monster to eat up my ms and my cool characters all in one big gulp.
xbig thanks for being a help for me and my wip and my characters!
x

ps if you cant think of one just real quick you could think on it a little while and then sent it on a email. im at lennylee@rocketmail.com
Hmmmm, Lenny, thinking, thinking, aww, my brain is turning to oatmeal. Names just come to me. Sometimes I stare at a picture for a while and then some name jumps out at me. He looks like a George, but that name is too ordinary. Hope you get a good one. If I think of one after a nights sleep, I'll let you know. :)
ReplyDeleteI think it's a great idea but I'm drawing blanks. I will think about it and email you with a name.

I like to look at baby name books or websites for names for my characters. How about Rocky or Bruce? Is he from a different country? Maybe Axel or Dieter?
ReplyDeleteGreat character! I wonder if he should have a 'The' in front of his name and then something snowy: Blizzard, Avalanche, WhiteOut,...
ReplyDeleteHope that helps spark some ideas! Good luck! :)
ooh! i like him!! i love monsters!!! :)
ReplyDeletehow about Frostbite? for all those sharp icecicle teeth! grrrr!!!! love the character lenny! :)
sometimes i'll just give a character a placeholder name until another one comes to me...
You've gotten some really good suggestions so far -- I don't think I can top any of them. I know you'll recognize the right one when you see it, though. :)
ReplyDeleteHmm...Cotton, FURRocious, Ned (just because), Clobber, Stu (I don't know why), Borris.
ReplyDelete:)
What about Steve? Or Bob. I think that would be a hilarious name for a monster. But not really very monstrous scary. Hummm. I'll have to think this out. =)
ReplyDeleteSometimes it's always good to name a character something that is totally the opposite of what they are. So how about Angel? Or something that sounds soft and cuddly. Like Teddy? Or Panda?
ReplyDeleteThat would make your reader laugh. And if later we find out that the big scary monster isn't so scary after all and that he's just trying to take care of his family and protect them, then it would make sense too. It's always fun to make our characters a little mor complicated so that the reader finds out there's more to learn about that person than they thought.
Hope you're having a great week, Lenny!
Jai
Oh, my! He looks like a cuddler, to me. How about Kitty or Cuddle-Bug? No? Well, I'll hafta' think on this awhile, Lenny. I can hardly wait to see what you name him, though. It sounds like a great story.
ReplyDeleteHow about naming him my word verification word for today; Achuma? Or, the other one; Eneake? The third one; Bersuffi? No? Okay; back to the Think Tank. No more word verification names from me.
Okay; one or two more an' that's all. Ardbate? Suparma? Still no keepers? Okay; I'm outta' here.
Hugs from Yaya
Oh, wow, Lenny, you're WIP sounds soooo cool! I hope the monster doesn't eat up your mountain climbers and your MS! Yikes!
ReplyDeleteHow about something funky and totally normal, just for fun, like Steve or Joe? Or maybe something mysterious, like Dorran? Or simply go with Snowball, or, as someone said above, Avalanche?
Or something unique, like Big Evil Snow Creature? (That's a bit of a mouthful, though!)
When I don't know what to name my characters, I go on one of those really cool websites that helps you name your baby. But it does more than that, cuz you can search by the meaning, too! I have a character in my WIP who's name means hunter, and guess what? He is one!
Good luck with naming your monster, Lenny!
Hugs from Riv!
I like Furrociousmon....or Furrociousman...
ReplyDeleteHi Lenny .. I think Mr SNAM .. for Mr Snow Monster Apple Mountain Man .. or - Mr Crusty IceMan ... or - Mr Screechy Scrunch - or .. lots more .. Sharon's Furrociousman .. sounds good ..
ReplyDeleteYea - look forward to seeing what you select ..
Happy choosing .. Hilary
Wow! I'm late to the party. All these suggestions are great. Let's see if I can give you my two cents ... um ... how about ... something like ... mmm ... is there a sound he makes when he's trying to swallow everyone up? Like Crunch? I don't like that as a name much but I'm sure if you think of some cool sounds, you might find something like a name :o) Good luck!
ReplyDeleteIt looks like you've gotten some great ideas, so far. Here are just a few off the top of my head:
ReplyDelete- The Grouchy Grumpster
- The Blue Abominable Snowman
- The Blue Snow Monster
I love all the names!!! Candyland (as usual) has stolen the show with the most unique (or random).
ReplyDeleteI'm gonna go with Grumpsnow, Avabite, Gravanow.
Yup, these are awful but hopefully they give your brain a chance to think outside the box!
Your story sounds cool!
ReplyDeleteI always have a hard time coming up with names. I usually go to places like babynames.com so I can see what the names mean. For instance, I typed in the meaning "big" and came up with names like Doozer (big thing) and Magnum (big, great).
Check it out and try different meanings. It might help you come up with a good name!
Love the character. You could go completely against the norm and give him a name no one would expect. Like...Roger.
ReplyDeleteGreat character, Lenny! And the name that comes to minds is Fahren. (like Fahrenheit and so cold he's negative...degrees....I don't know). Anyhow - hope you get some (better) other good suggestions! :)
ReplyDeleteA snow monster?! I was thinking "Frank", but I see Donea Lee's beaten me to that particular punch...
ReplyDeleteClaws and tail, huh? The Frigid Lizard! The Nimble Snow Gnome! Wind Chill! The Frozen Terror!
:-)
Pearl
Did you come up with a name? If not, I can think of some.
ReplyDeleteI appreciate how you seem to be everywhere. I see you more than I read every time I come over here to read something. Keep it up, it's a good one.
